FAQ

What exactly are ASPs and how do I get them?

An ASP is an “All-Star Point”. The ASP system is a point system designed to award points for a “quality turn” in darts.

• 6,7,8,9 dart & 4 round: This is the total number of darts required to take out a game of 301 from start to

exactly zero. 4 round is 10-12 darts out.

• Low ton: A score of 100-150 in either 301/501 or team 701 (Note: you can not count a hat trick as both a

hat trick and a low ton, it is recorded only as a hat trick).

• High ton: A score of 151-177 in either 301/501 or team 701.

• Highest ton: A score of 180 in either 310/501 or team 701.

• Hat Trick: All three darts in the bull, all games

• Highest Out: The highest number taken out in either 301/501 or team 701.

• Wins: How many times you were able to take out in any game (301, 501, 701, and Cricket).

• 5 Marks: Cricket only (1 triple/2 singles or 1 triple/1 double or 2 doubles/1 single)

• 6 Marks: Cricket only (2 triples or 1 triple/1 double/1 single or 3 doubles)

• 7 Marks: Cricket only (2 triples/1 single or 1 triple/2 doubles)

• 8 Marks: Cricket only (2 triples/1 double)

• 9 Marks: Cricket only (3 triples)

• White Horse: Same as 9 marks sort of, any 3 triples of unmarked numbers by your team (triple 20, triple 19, triple 18)

NOTE: Please mark your Wins scored in cricket under the '01 portion at the top of each score

sheet.

The Freeze Rule:

(This rule only applies to the 301/501 games) If it is your turn and your partner has more points than your two opponents scores added together, then you are frozen. This means that you can’t take the game out (win) but you CAN throw to lower your score. If you bring your score down to zero (win), your team forfeits that game. For example: It's your turn. Your partner has 140 left. Your two opponents have 40 and 60 left respectively. Your partner's score of 140 is higher than their combined score of 100 so you are frozen.

All games of cricket will be doubles (2 player cricket) while the 301/501 matches will be singles (4 player 301/501).  In the 701 game, players can be listed in any order and it will be 2 line 701.

Team captains: Please ensure that each ASP (Low Ton, Win, 5 Mark, etc) is recorded at the top of the score sheet, in the correct block. The statistician uses a spreadsheet formula to calculate the total number of ASPs based on assigned values for each. If any ASP is not recorded in the appropriate block, it will not be counted correctly.
